Finland is a member of the European Union and part of the Schengen area. Citizens of EU countries do not need a visa, but a valid passport is required. Citizens of other countries kindly see www.formin.fi for information about visas for Finland or contact the nearest Finnish Embassy.
Please note that the application time for a visa may be over 3 months. Also please check visa formalities if you plan to visit any other country during your conference trip.
Tavicon Congress Bureau will send the Confirmation/Receipt of registration as soon as your full registration fee has been received. The Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs has confirmed that this document will serve as your invitation letter when you apply for a visa for Finland.
This procedure, however, applies in Finland’s own embassies and consulates only. If there is not a Finnish embassy or consulate in your country, and the visa application is handled through another country’s embassy or consulate, they may require a separate invitation letter which should be issued by the conference organizers. In this case, please contact the Tavicon Congress Bureau (firstname.lastname@example.org) by e-mail and give them the following information:
Details of the participant (given by the applicant him/herself):
- full name
- date of birth
- full address
- passport number
- purpose and length of the visit
- status with regard to the Conference: presenting author, conference delegate, or other useful information which explains your level of attendance.
You will receive an invitation letter by e-mail from the organizers in a few days by e-mail (PDF attachment).
Visa refusal does not entitle the participant to full refund but is treated as cancellation, and regular cancellation terms apply. A proof of visa refusal is needed to be provided to get a refund.
