Algal Culture Tour

Tour to algal culture is guided by Pritha Chatterjee. The feasibility to cultivate microalgae using source separated and hydrolyzed (stored for several months to kill the pathogens and while urea was hydrolyzed) human urine is being studied in pilot scale outdoor raceway ponds in Hiedanranta. The harvested microalgae is tested for biochemical methane production potential.

The City of Tampere invites the participants of Dry toilet conference participants to the Tampere City Hall on Thursday, 23 August at 19.00-20.30.

The Tampere City Hall (Tampereen Raatihuone) is a neo-renaissance building, situated at the edge of the Tampere Central Square. The City Hall was built in 1890 and was designed by Georg Schreck.

Please remember to indicate your participation to the Reception on the registration form even though it is included in the conference fee. Please note that it might not be possible to register to the reception on-site.

Conference dinner

Price: included in the full delegate conference registration fee. The cost for the conference dinner is EUR 65 for students, exhibitors, and accompanying persons. Advance registration required.

The Conference dinner will be served at Hatanpää manor. The Neo-Renaissance manor was built in 1883–1885. Near the manor are beautiful rose garden and arboretum, which are very popular in the summer time.

Please remember to indicate your participation to the Conference dinner on the registration form and please note that it might not be possible to register to the Conference dinner on-site.

Hatanpää manor can be reached by taking one of the busses: 1B, 14, 11B, 21 and 26 from the city center. The closest bus stop to the conference dinner is Hatanpään sairaala (2527) and from there it is about 600m walking distance to the mansion. Please note that the bus ticket in your conference badge is valid until midnight on Friday.

ECO3 tour and lunch in Frantsila Kehäkukka Restaurant

Meeting point: Old Church at Central Square (Puutarhakatu 4)

Professional visit to ECO3, industrial-scale bio-, circular and water-economy pilot and demonstration facilities circular economy park. Sakari Ermala who is the CEO at Verte Ltd will introduce the area for us. After the tour, lunch is served in Frantsila Kehäkukka Restaurant. The bus leaves from the Tampere Central Square at 10.00 on Saturday and comes back at 15.00. Please be at the Old Church at 9:45.
