After finishing her Master’s Degree in Corporate Environmental Management (University of Jyväskylä) in 2009, Ms Anna Aalto has been working as a project leader of the North South Local Government Co-operation Project of City of Lahti (Finland), Rustenburg and Madibeng Local Municipalities (South Africa) and Ho Municipality (Ghana). This long-term development cooperation focuses on technical transfer, municipal service development and capacity building of the environmental administration in local government level based on peer learning and co-created pilot projects. Ecological sanitation development has been one of the key pilots under the cooperation.

 Beatrice Mukasine

MukasineBeatrice Mukasine is a water, sanitation, and hygiene expert with 14 years’ experience in designing, implementing, managing, tracking, and assessing WASH projects in Rwanda. She has worked for SNV since 2001 in the areas of Gender, Youth and currently as the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene/Governance Advisor. In this role, she oversees quality control and supervision of local implementers of the Ecological sanitation project, leads and manages the project. She also maintains strategic partnerships and is charged with promoting dialogue for increased access to safe water and improved sanitation, and promoting participation at the local level. Beatrice holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

Dr. Gerryshom Kweya Munala

munala2Dr. Munala is a senior lecturer at the Centre of Urban Studies, JKUAT. He earned his Dr. Techn degree in urban water management from Graz University of Technology, Austria. Dr Munala is a corporate member, Architectural Association of Kenya, Lead Environmental Impact Assessor and Auditor, National Environmental and Management Authority and a member of European Water Resource Association. He is the convenor of ISO TC 224/WG 8 – working on services relating to water and wastewater: standards for onsite domestic wastewater services. He is actively involved in teaching, research, supervision and practice. Dr. Munala has published several refereed journal papers

Dr. Gina Itchon

A medical doctor whose passion is public health, Doctor Gina has been working and doing research in post –disaster communities in the last 3 years. Her academic background includes degrees in Biology, Medicine, and Community Medicine. She currently holds the rank of Associate Professor at the Xavier University School of Medicine, where she is Associate Professor in the Department of Preventive and Community Medicine and since 2012, is also the Director of the Sustainable Sanitation Center.

Karamat Ali

karamat aliKaramat Ali, did his masters in development economics from University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan has more than 29-year experience of monitoring, evaluating and coordinating water resources, storage/hydropower development and surface/sub-surface drainage projects in Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Lahore. Associated with Global Water Partnership (GWP) at Country and Regional levels since 1999.

Assisted Ministry of Environment, Pakistan for organizing the Second South Asian Conference on Sanitation, Islamabad, 20-21 September 2006, attended by 439 delegates. Also assisted in reviewing and finalizing the National Sanitation Policy, which was then approved by the Government of Pakistan for implementation in 2006. Also assisted for holding the first Pakistan Conference on Sanitation (PACOSAN) in Islamabad on 28-29 May 2009.

Professor M.K.C. Sridhar

 Professor Mynepalli Sridhar obtained Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1971 and moved to University of Ibadan, Nigeria in October 1977. He served in several capacities and became Professor of Environmental Health in 1986. He trained over 250 students at MPH and PhD levels. His research interests include water and sanitation, ‘Waste to Wealth’, community involvement in Environmental management. He is a Member/ Fellow of professional bodies and Societies and published over 250 scientific papers. He has over 10 patents in the areas of renewable resources.

I am Narayan Prasad Wagle born on January 1970 in Dhankuta district of Nepal. I am currently working in Government of Finland funded Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project in Western Nepal (RWSSP-WN II) in capacity of Planning and Capacity Development Specialist since last one and half years. I have more than 24 years of experience in WASH and working with Finnish water projects. I have obtained Diploma in engineering and Master’s Degree in Management and Rural Development. I have experience working with remote and conflict sensitive area too with expertise in WASH sector planning, monitoring, and capacity development.

Tynar Musabaev

MusabaevTynar is an energetic director of the Central Asian Alliance for Water. After starting his work in CAAW as a member of the organization, he is now the director of the activities. CAAW is one of the main organizations in Southern Kyrgyzstan with water, dry sanitation and women development. Tynar has been an active part in the development of the current dry sanitation situation in Southern Kyrgyzstan. After receiving his Master degree, he has been working in Turkey, Russia and now in Kyrgyzstan with dry sanitation, gender issues and water.
