Global Dry Toilet Association of Finland

The Global Dry Toilet Association of Finland is a non-governmental organization established in 2002. While its place of business is in Tampere, Finland, the area of operation of the Association covers the whole world. At this time, the organisation has approximately 500 members, both private and organisations. In addition, we have toilet godparents and companies, who support our development aid projects.

Our vision is to make dry toilets an essential part of sustainable development in order to ensure that future generations will also be able to enjoy clean water and a healthy environment.

We want sanitation everywhere to be ecologically, socially, economically and culturally sustainable, and for a natural nutrient cycle to be fulfilled globally.

The Association is the best known promoter of ecological sanitation in Finland and an expert organisation in DT technology. Every three years we organize an International Dry Toilet Conference. The next conference is organised in Hiedanranta, Tampere, 20.-24.8.2018. Theme of the conference is Dry Toilet goes circular. For more information please visit our conference pages.
