Modern drytoilet is functional, environmentally friendly and hygienic
solution to be installed indoors as well.
The Dry Toilet Club has built demonstration sites to private homes.
The club is also collecting information and pitures of indoor-drytoilets

1. Ekolet VS
Residents
Two adults as permanent residents
The building
A toilet and new shower room were made to replace the sauna during
a large renovation. Ekolet was installed under the house.
Costs
The Ekolet VS cost 1600€ and an old container was used for the
liquid.
They chose a drytoilet because
they wanted to take the toilet inside from outside and a drytoilet
was cheaper solution than a water toilet with a filtration field.
Another reason was that they didn´t have enough room for a large
filtration field. In addition the adequacy of fresh water was not
sure because the household depends on its own well.
Greywaters
A soil filter system was made for the grey waters during the summer
2006.

2. Ekolet VS for a

Residents
One adult as permanent resident
The building
The equipment is installed to the new expansion part of the house.
They constructed a space for the Ekolet VS to the expansion part.
Costs
The equipment cost about 1600 €. In addition the aeration pipe
was lead to the roof and a container was acquired for the filtration
liquid.
They chose a drytoilet because
they wanted to take the toilet inside from outside and a drytoilet
was cheaper option than a water toilet with a large filtration field.
In addition a drytoilet is more useful solution in case of water shortage.
Greywaters
New ceptic tank and soil filter system were made for the grey waters.

3. Separett Villa
9000 for a porch
Residents
Two adults, two school-aged children and two diaper-aged children.
The building
Two and a half story building by a lake. The toilet was installed
to the porch and the urine container to the old garage. The porch
is about 1,6 m wide and about 0,80 m of space was reserved for the
toilet.
Costs
Separett Villa 850 €, urine container 1 m3 50 €, in addition
pipe of 35 mm in diameter was acquired to lead the urine.
They chose a drytoilet because
they wanted to move the toilet inside from outside.

4. Separett Villa
9000 as a toilet to an old school
Residents
There is two permanent residents at the moment but they have to prepare
for the increase in the amount of users.
The building
An old school is renovated entirely to residental use. The old kitchen
is made in to a housemaking room, bathroom and a toilet. The room
is about 20 m2 and the room height is 3,10 m.
Costs
Separett Villa 9000 costs 850 €, in addition the two 50 liter
urine containers about 50 €
They chose a drytoilet because
they wanted to take the toilet inside from outside and a water toilet
would have been more expensive because it had required cutting the
rock.
Greywaters
At the moment two ceptic tanks and a soil filtration system are in
use. There are no plans to improve the situation yet (the situation
on 12/2006).

5. Clivus Multrum
to an old house
Residents
Two adults as permanent residents
The building
Old house made timber renovated to be suitable for permanent residence.
The container for the toilet will be in the first floor and the seat
to the second floor.
Costs
The equipment about 3 000 €. Including a fan and the seat.
They chose a drytoilet because
they wanted to protect the environment from the wastewaters.

Soil filter system enhanced with In-Drän modules.

6. Clivus Multrum
to an expansion part of a house
Residents
Two adults as permanent residents
The building
An expansion wing was made to a single family house where room had
been included in the basement for the container. The seat is located
in the first floor of the house.
Costs
The equipment about 3 000 €. Including a fan and a seat.
They chose a drytoilet because
they wanted to try an alternative technology and project the environment
from wastewaters.
Greywaters
At the moment they greywaters are lead to a closed well but soil filter
system can also be built to the site. If they get a co-operative society
to manage the wastewaters in the area, they will lead the wastewaters
to a sewer.

7. Naturum to replace
a water toilet
Residents

The building
A farmhouse. The drytoilet to replace the water toilet directly.
Costs
The Naturum 1 600 €. In addition some pipe to lead the urine
and a 1 m3 urinecontainer 50 €.
They chose a drytoilet because
The closed container of the water toilet was too small for the family
and the emptying of the container was expensive. Also the overflown
container used to smell.

8. Naturum as the
secondary toilet of the house
Residents
Two adults and a child as permanent residents
The building
As a second toilet to the downstairs of a two story building. An old
closed well working as a urinecontainer.
Costs
The Naturum 1 600 €. Including a fan. In addition some pipe to
lead the urine.
They chose a drytoilet because
The closed container of the water toilet was too small for the family
and the emptying of the container was expensive. The overflown container
used to smell.
